THE MISSIONS OF OUR MISSION
RIGHT HERE
1. Mountain Area Pregnancy Center (MAPC)
This ministry was launched to help the needs of expectant mothers and has grown into so much more. Teenagers are counseled, young parents are encouraged and supplied so babies can be brought to term and thrive.
2. Evergreen Christian Outreach (ECHO)
ECHO meets the physical needs of the poor in our mountain area. Food and clothing are the most immediate needs. Sometimes emergency cash and furniture are also provided. All of this is done in the name of Christ with acceptance and compassion.
3. LifeCare Assisted Living
Rick and Susan Adams lead worship and more on the fourth Sunday of every month at the LifeCare facility here in Evergreen. They would love co-workers to join them in bringing smiles and comfort to people often left alone.
OVER THERE
1. Romania – Abandoned children (Mercy Ministries)
Fred and Karleen Dewey live in Romania helping abandoned children, from birth into adulthood. Diane Pulvermiller is supported by Bergen Park Church, and trains and leads summer teams to assist teenagers in a local government orphanage.
2. France – The Haddad family has lead our first team to Lyon, France where they hope to live soon. They will be involved in student ministry and church planting. There are few parts of the world more secular than France. Cathedrals are monuments and Islam is the faith of immigrants.
3. Juarez Mexico Ministry Partnership – We have established close ties with Iglesia Emmanuel in Juarez, Mexico. Just a 10-hour drive from Denver, we are able to go often and in large numbers. We join hands with the ministry of Tony and Coco Nunez in one of the barrios of that city. Our ministry involves construction projects, community outreach and encouragement to the Christians at that church. Josh Doneff leads this mission and is planning three visits in the coming year.
4. Spain – Pastor training and church planting
Jonathan and Meta Nelson live in Spain where they coordinate the Evangelical Free Church theological education for the Hispanic world. Most training is done on the internet but Jon also encourages local pastors in their church planting work.
Support of both local and foreign missions is a priority for our church and is outlined in our Missions Protocol document.
Mission to Romania
Make A Difference!!!
Most of you are aware that five members of our church family, Pastor Jim and Barb Demolar and Diane, Leann and Jenna Pulvermiller are travelled overseas this summer with the Loving Arms team from Mile High Ministries to work with the orphans of Western Romania. They joined Fred and Karleen Dewey who were already in Romania on an extended stay in support of this ministry. Fred and Karleen are continuing their efforts to develop a foster parenting in conjunction with FCE ministries.
A large part of our Romanian outreach has evolved from Mercy Ministries of Colorado whose mission is “assisting needy children and families … in Christ’s name”. They’ve recently implemented a new website that’s worth checking out when you get a chance.
Please keep our missions team and the Romanian orphans in your prayers.
If you have any questions or comments please contact Diane (674-8640).
Multumesc Foarte Mult!!!
TEAM ROMANIA
Our Loving Arms Team that travels to Romania is made up of people from several churches throughout the Denver area. It is designed to be a multi-generation and multi-ethnic group. Since we target abandoned children, it helps to have family members of all ages. Fred and Karleen Dewey have three generations represented. This year our team had Asian, African-American and Hispanic members.
Our goal is to grow in Jesus Christ throughout the year as we meet. Through our unity and love for one another we represent God and His family to orphans who have little experience of love for God and for one another.
Each year we partner with an existing international mission working year round in a small city of western Romania. This mission works with abandoned children from birth to adulthood. Our specific ministry takes older children to camp where we give them good food, a secure atmosphere, unconditional love and the good news about Jesus.
Next year we are planning one camp for children in the orphanage, and another for children in Christian transit homes sponsored by the mission. Our meetings will begin in early October for new team members. We meet Monday nights from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. which includes dinner. Our meeting place is the Issachar House at 1220 E. 24th Ave. just east of Downing St.
Our time together includes team building, prayer, Bible training, camp preparation, language learning and fundraising. Each member will need to raise $3,000 to cover expenses the trip and camps. If you would like to join Team Romania speak to one of the team members this morning to receive an application and to answer any personal questions you may have. You are welcome to talk to the Dewey, Demolar or Pulvermiller families to find out more about joining the team. The deadline for applications for new team members is September 19.
