Together we, glorify God as we worship Him daily, follow Jesus, and love our neighbor.

Since being established in 1947, Bergen Park Church (BPC) has experienced tremendous growth. From 35 regular attendees on Sunday mornings in the mid-90s to over 500 regular attendees present day, BPC is thriving and our impact is spreading.

At BPC, we take pride in loving and serving the people of the Evergreen community. We do this partly through our internal Children’s, Youth and Family ministries as well as by opening our facilities for local children, youth, and families throughout the year. During many of these events and occasions, we have found our current space lacking to accommodate the needs of our church and community. We believe this expansion will help us meet the needs of our congregation and community while preparing for the future.

Building Project Updates:

April 2026

Closing the Fundraising Gap: We continue to see God at work at Bergen Park Church! What started as a dream is becoming more tangible each day. We are incredibly grateful for the gifts and support we have received to date.

Your generosity, whether given early in the campaign or faithfully along the way, has helped bring us to this moment. You stepped in with trust, vision, and courage. For that, we are deeply grateful. With only $375K left to meet our $2.95M goal – We are closing the fundraising gap!

February 2026

Groundbreaking Ceremony: Together with our project partners, we prayed over the project and celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking for our North Addition! In addition to the Groundbreaking Ceremony, our Elder team led a project update meeting, where members in attendance unanimously approved an $800K line of credit. While the intent and hope is to never tap into the line of credit, we needed the assurance of a fully funded project for our general construction contractor.

December 2025

Closing out 2025: Our leadership team, together with architects and contractors, has been working diligently through the planning and approval phases. Recent milestones include:

  • Site Preparation: Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers who have removed trees and playground equipment, our property is ready for excavation.
  • Approvals and Permits: We expect the final stamp of approval from Jefferson County within the next few weeks.
  • Contractor Selection: We are excited to share that we have finalized a contract with Himmelman Construction. BPC has a good and long-standing relationship with Himmelman Construction, as they built our current building back in 2015. We look forward to working with them on this next chapter of BPC.
  • Next Steps: God willing, we will break ground in early 2026. At that point, things will move quickly, and we will be able to see the fruits of our labor (and patience) coming to fruition!
April 2025

Commitment Sunday: We invite you to join us in the vision of fully funding this project, debt-free. We need to raise $2.5-$3 million to bring the north addition to completion. God is working through our congregation to build an expansion that will help us accomplish our mission of reaching the Evergreen community with the love of Jesus. Please join us in praising our Lord as we continue to work toward our goal.

November 2024

Focusing on the North Addition: At this point, we feel it makes the most sense to focus on the design and permitting for the North Addition only. The South Addition concept design will remain in the long-term master plan for facility development, but it will not be included in this phase of design or permitting. This should help speed up the overall process and necessary approvals from Jefferson County. Our architect and design team are moving forward with the design and permitting process and plan to complete the building permit application by June 2025. We expect several months of regulatory review.

During the first few months of 2025, we will assemble a construction steering committee. We anticipate the selection of a construction contractor in spring 2025 and hope to start construction in late summer/fall 2025.

June 9, 2024

Thank you to those who attended our Building Expansion Informational Meeting on Sunday, June 9, 2024. We are pleased to share that we received 90% of voting members’ approval to proceed with Phase 1: Design & Permitting! Stay tuned for more information and updates along the way. Also, please continue to pray for this project and ask God how you and your family can be involved.

The Vision

Create a welcoming and conducive space to accommodate our growing population and thriving ministries, while following God’s direction and guidance.

Project Funding

Our goal is to fund the North Addition through gifts to the project, not a new bank loan.

The updated cost estimate for this project is $2.95M. We have seen God work through BPC finances and believe this project aligns with and directly supports our mission of reaching more of our community for Christ. Project Details

We expect the expansion project to take place in three phases:

  • Phase 1: North Addition Design & Permitting | 9-12 months (June 2024-June 2025) | In Progress!
  • Phase 2: North Addition Construction | 12-16 months (April 2026-Spring 2027)
  • Phase 3: Finishing Touches | Summer 2027

In addition to a feasibility study, our leadership team has worked closely with key stakeholders to understand the needs, desires, and realities of the planned expansion. To better meet the needs of our ministries, congregation, and community, we’re excited to add the North Addition to our current building:

  • North Addition – Multipurpose room/gym with classrooms, bathrooms, youth room, offices, and storage. The North Addition will consist of roughly 8,000 additional square feet to our building footprint.

FAQs

BPC loves being a multigenerational church family. We have seen rapid growth in the number of young families attending BPC. Our facilities are no longer meeting the needs of our Children’s and Youth ministries. When our current building was constructed in 2015 it was designed with a future expansion in mind. Fast forward nearly 10 years, BPC has experienced rapid growth and it’s clear that we need more space to meet our growing needs, while continuing to love and serve the people in our community.

The original members of BPC who built our current building dreamed of this day!

We take pride in loving and serving the people of the Evergreen community. We do this partly through our internal Children’s and Youth ministries as well as by opening our facilities for local children, youth, and families throughout the year. During many of these events, we have found our current space lacking to accommodate the needs of our church and community. We believe this expansion will help us meet the needs of our congregation and community while preparing for the future.

Our leadership team has worked closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs, desires, and realities for the planned expansion. Stakeholders involved up to this point include key ministry leaders, trustees, elders, staff members, and legacy members.

The priorities for this expansion have been guided by the key stakeholders listed above as well as many prayers about our community needs and how to best share the love of Jesus with our neighbors.

We expect this expansion project to take place in three phases.

    • Phase 1: Design & Permitting | 9-12 months (June 2024 – June 2025) | In Progress!
    • Phase 2: N. Addition Construction | 12–16 months (April 2026 – Spring 2027)
    • Phase 3: Final Touches  |  Summer 2027
  • North Addition – Multipurpose Room/gym with classrooms, bathrooms, youth room, offices, storage, and an updated nature-inspired playground.
  • Phase 1: Design & Permitting
    • Architectural and Engineering Design  – $170k
    • Jefferson County Permitting fees – $30k
  • Phase 2: North Addition Construction | $2.7M – $2.8M
  • Phase 3: Final Touches | $100k

Bergen Park Church is currently debt-free having paid off the mortgage for the current building in 2022. Thanks to your faithful giving and good financial stewardship of our staff, we have over $300,000 set aside for this building expansion. We are committed to completing this building expansion without debt and are confident that God will supply the finances through the continued faithful giving of people who are excited to see Bergen Park Church reach our community for Christ.

  1. Pray with us for God to lead us in this project.
  2. Please prayerfully and thoughtfully consider how you and your family will contribute to the building expansion financially.
  3. You can give towards the building expansion a few ways:
    • Digitally by clicking here
    • In-person via cash or check (Include “Building Fund” in memo)

The short answer is no. BPC leadership equally values both projects as part of our larger vision. It’s not an “either/or” scenario but rather a question of timing and God’s plan. Stay tuned for an announcement about our first step towards a Clear Creek County church plant.

Our parking situation has improved significantly with the addition of 35 new parking spots at the completed Evergreen Arts Center parking lot. BPC attendees are free to use those spots on Sunday mornings. We will continue to explore additional parking options. Additional accessible parking spots have also been designated near our building.
